Loss… Is it keeping you from your life? From God? Does it have you believing God has forgotten you, or worse doesn’t care about you? Loss is a terrible pain that can overwhelm you any time of the day, no matter where you are or what you’re doing. It can make you believe there will never be anything else. It can make you just want to pull the covers over your head and forget the world. It can make you believe you are alone and have no choice but to exist forever in the pain.

But that is the lie you and I have to give all we’ve got to fight! It’s the lie that can make us stay in the darkness way longer than we were meant to. Pain comes for us all. As humans in a fallen world none of us escape loss, pain, and grief. And just as we all face grief we can all come out of it. It is not an easy thing to do, but it is possible. First, you and I have to realize that God knew this was coming and nothing took Him by surprise. He is there waiting to hold us and carry us through this. Straight through to the other side. He knows us and what we need better than we do. So we can trust him with our pain. Second, just as we trust Him with the loss and pain we have suffered, we have to trust him with our future too. Just as He knew the hard times were coming, He also knows what’s after that. He has great plans for each of us. Specifically personally deigned plans! We just have to believe that not only does God know us, He loves us! And He is working on our behalf.

None of us are alone!!! There is life after loss and grief. And God wants to help us all make it be a great one!  It’s making a decision to pull the covers down, then the decision to get up, then the decision to move forward with one step, then it’s taking a few more steps. It won’t happen over night and it may take way longer than any of us want. But one day we will look and realize that with each step we’ve walked a new path. That we have been brought out of the dark and into a new light. A light that shines brighter than we ever thought was possible. You my friend have great things to do! Give your grief over to God. Allow Him to guide you into the plans He has for you. Allow Him to guide you to living your best life. He loves you beyond compare and wants nothing less for you! I am taking a step by step journey with God and it hasn’t been an easy one. But He has been there every step of the way. He wants nothing more than to do the same with you! Spend time with Him, read His word, talk to Him as if He’s your friend. Cause He is! He delights in you and all you are!!! Here are two scriptures that help me in the midst of my deepest worries and pain.

John 16:33 I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 💕
