Moving On…

IMG_3453So what’s done is done. Now what?We can’t go back. So we can either stay where we are, or we can move forward. We have three different perspectives to choose from when trying to decide to move forward or stay where we are. Let’s look at them shall we?
First we have Satan’s perspective. He dose not want you or me to move forward. He wants us stuck believing where we are is our only choice. He will paralyze any movement from happening by using self doubt, fear, worry, and other things. He knows that if he can keep us stuck, God can’t use us for anything He has willed for our lives. So many people get stuck here. I know I have. If you’re in this perspective today, know that John 8:44 tells us that Satan is the father of lies. So we should know right there not to believe anything he whispers in our ears.
Then there is our own limited perspective. We want to move forward we just don’t know how. Partly because of us buying into the above mentioned self doubt as long as we did. It probably has left us paralyzed, not sure what to do, or what we can do. It can leave us doubting ourselves and even God sometimes. Once we can fully let go of the fear and damage it mentally caused, (I have only accomplished this through continued everyday reading of His word, prayer, and talking to a Christian Life Coach) we are ready to take a step forward. And small steps in the beginning are best. Recovery and restoring your broken heart and life is not a race. It’s a journey. Okay we have spent time in Gods word, prayer, and healing talks, we are ready for our first step.
Now there is God!!! He wants us to move forward and He knows how!!! But we have to be open to His wisdom and timing. We have to discern when to listen and when to move. The Bible gives us two commands on this subject. More I’m sure but let’s focus on these two.
First there is Psalms 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God…” Yes be still at times! Listen and trust God. There is a season in life where we need to stop moving forward (for a bit) so God can grow us into who we need to be first. Sometimes our first step has to be truly, completely, trusting in God if we don’t already. That will put all other steps in a better perspective. This is where the continued reading, prayer, and healing talks come in.
But my friend do not mistake this as an invite to do nothing. Just as there is a time to meditate on Gods word and direction, there will also be a time when we are to get up and go in the way God tells us. We see this in Isaiah 60:1 “Rise up and shine, for your light has come. The shining-greatness of the Lord has risen upon you!” So, just as there is a time to be still, there is also a time to rise up in Gods light and move forward! I am learning to discern when to be still and when to move, you must too my friend if you ever want to fully live your best life! It’s a learning process and I’m still getting the hang of it. I still fumble. You will too. And it’s okay. We simply then pick our selves back up and try again. The key is the more we stay in Gods word, the better we will get at this. I don’t know if your first step needs to be getting to know God first, or if you already do and are ready for a more physical step forward. But I do know this, either way God is there waiting for you.  You can do this! ❤
