You Are Loved More Than You Know…

143C128F-D73A-44E3-8A7A-2ABBA90A1341.jpegIt can be so easy to feel like just one heart, one soul, one person, in the middle of millions. To get lost in the vastness of this world. It’s no wonder it’s so easy for us to walk around aimlessly, trying to find even just one thing, or one person, to belong to. It’s a daunting task that seems impossible if we really think about it. This Valentines if you are like me, finding yourself single again, or you’re single still, please don’t let this holiday define you in anyway. To make you feel unloved, forgotten, in a sea of people. You my dear friend are known and found by someone Who will never forget who you are. Who will always seek you out in a crowd, or when you go wandering off alone. Looking, longing, for a place to belong. Matthew 18:12-13 is a story told by Jesus, a parable about a lost sheep. “What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off.” Here we see just how important we are to Jesus. How He will always come looking for us, to save us, to connect with us, to have a relationship with us, even if/when we wander off looking elsewhere. This is true love. This is being cared for in a way so deep that must of us can’t fathom. It’s not what we are use to. This is being so important to another that we are worth leaving the masses to be found. This is amazing, fulfilling, life altering love. This is what the love of Jesus can do for you. It’s done it for me so I know it can for you.
Now this is where I want to get really real with you. I’m not someone who is coming to you to say “I never get lonely because I have the love of Jesus.” Of course I do. I’m human. I was created to do life with a partner. So were you. (Read Genesis 2:20-24) Being with a partner is something that is engrained in us. So please don’t feel as if you’re the only one who can’t fight off all loneliness with a relationship with Jesus. However, I am saying this. There is no relationship that can compare to the intimacy you can have with your Lord and Saviour. No one knows you better and still loves you. And not just love you, but long to have you in their presence always. This is a relationship where you can be totally honest and not have to fear rejection. This is a relationship where you can talk for hours and always be heard. (Psalm 116:2) There is nothing like knowing you are wanted, welcomed, and loved. Always. No matter how far you wander off. I understand physical loneliness. I deal with it daily in my life. And yes some days that longing wins over my thoughts and I cry and yell at God. Guess what though. He knows and understands all of it. He is there waiting to hold me and comfort me in my loneliness and sorrow. He is waiting and wanting to do the same for you too.
Why not give a relationship with Jesus a try. A true effort to finally give into a relationship with Him. And with your creator. Let the love of your Lord and Saviour to fill you in ways you never imagined. Then that other loneliness we deal with as singles becomes easier to take. Not easy. But easier than you can imagine right now. As always I am praying for you. Pray for me too if you would. ❤️
